每日大赛 in Zambia proudly hosted an awareness session on the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) ICT Innovation Programme on April 1, 2026, demonstrating the University鈥檚 commitment to strengthening student engagement in innovation and entrepreneurship activities in the region. 

Much like our own , this programme gives students an opportunity to make their dreams come true, and fulfill their ambitions.

The aim of the session was to engage students in a nationwide call for startups, entrepreneurs and innovators, while providing valuable insight into initiatives that support the development of innovative ideas into impactful and sustainable real world solutions.

It also highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in the current digital landscape and of ICT in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation in Zambia.

The session began with welcoming remarks by Senior Marketing Officer, Ms Nancy Nkonde. Following these opening remarks, ZICTA was introduced, and a general overview of the ICT Innovation Programme was presented. 

The different stages of the process were also discussed, including the support provided, such as mentorship and funding opportunities. Following this, there were presentations of various success stories that came about through the programme and guidance was given to the students regarding the application process and eligibility criteria, after which students were given the opportunity to have any questions they may have answered. 

Closing remarks were given by Ms. Abigail Chisala, Dean of Student Affairs, where she encouraged the students to embrace the call from ZICTA for applications.

The session was delivered by Ms. Vanessa Chavula-Menshi, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Analyst and Ms. Memory Sichula, Consumer Education Officer. Both presenters brought an impressive mix of technical expertise and practical experience, effectively guiding students through Zambia鈥檚 innovative digital environment.

In attendance were students and staff from various from the University, demonstrating strong interest in innovation and entrepreneurship activities. 

The intelligent, interactive format of the session encouraged active participation amongst the attendees, with meaningful questions and engaging discussions taking place throughout.

The ZICTA ICT Innovation Programme Awareness Session was an impactful and successful engagement that enhanced students鈥 understanding of ICT innovation, available opportunities, and the role of the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority in advancing national development. 

The success of this session resulted in developing interest in innovation and entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of structured support and cybersecurity awareness, and clarified pathways for student participation in the future. The University remains committed, along with its , to raising awareness of the ways in which students can take full advantage of their opportunities and contribute to a greater society.
